I THINK, THEN I ACT

Emotional and behavioral management

This therapeutic program is designed to treat emotional problems such as fear, aggression, and anxiety (usually due to separation). Educational therapy revolves around two axes: (1) improving the dog's emotional health and (2) managing its emotions.

Emotional health is the state of well-being and adequate development in terms of the emotional capacities expressed by the dog. Its improvement, consolidation and reconstruction is the foundation of behavioral health. Work on emotional health is carried out outside the situations that generate the specific problem, using techniques and guidelines that the tutor and the dog can carry out effortlessly and during everyday life.

We work on the six points of the dog's emotional health:

  • Self-control and control
  • Stability
  • Emotional balance
  • Resilience
  • Stress level
  • Healthy social relationships

Emotional management is the set of processes related to the activation, use and evaluation of the effectiveness of emotions. Therefore, a dog with healthy emotional management will activate the appropriate emotions at the right time and level, will use them adaptively and will deactivate them when the situation that caused them ends. We will create learning spaces, controlled emotional situations and therapeutic sessions that will serve as an evaluator of the progress obtained.

The objective of this program is to provide the dog with skills and experiences that will optimize the management of emotions and, ultimately, will provide a substantial and evident improvement in the quality of life of the entire family.
